The Made in Wickenburg Artist-in-Residence Program invites established performing artists and companies to retreat to the beauty and quiet of Wickenburg, Arizona, where the wide-open landscapes of the Sonoran Desert provide an inspiring setting to develop new work, collaborate, and explore fresh ideas away from the demands of everyday life.
Hosted in partnership with a historic guest ranch, each residency includes lodging, meals, rehearsal space, and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the welcoming spirit and hospitality that make Wickenburg unlike anywhere else.
Residency Experience
Up to two performing arts residencies are offered each year for projects lasting up to two weeks. Residencies accommodate companies of up to 25 artists and support staff and include guest accommodations, daily meals, rehearsal space, housekeeping, and access to ranch amenities.
Connecting with the Community
Artists become part of the community during their stay by offering free open rehearsals, workshops, or educational experiences that give audiences and local students a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.
Each residency culminates with a public performance on the Webb Center stage before the new work continues its journey to audiences across the country and beyond.
